hostel

jon and i are staying at kelowna internation hostel. this is our first hostel experience. we have a private room with 2 beds. it's not bad but the bathrooms are kinda gross. you get used to it at least i will have to because we'll be staying at hostels along the way but omgosh...this is definitely going to be an experience.

HOPE, HELL'S GATE, KELOWNA

we were listening to "witchy woman" by eagles and i said "this song is fitting for our road trip because we'll be in the country." jon replied "we're only in surrey"

*jon filled up his car using the chevron gift card ACC club gave him. he would like to thank the ACC club :)

there were wooden carvings made by pete ryan all throughout downtown hope. hope is known as the chainsaw carving capital.

jon and i just came back from walking through othello tunnels. they are located in the coquihalls canyon provincial park in hope. the walk took 45 minutes. the tunnels were constructed in 1911 to 1916 for the kettle valley railway. this is where first blood (rambo), shoot to kill and far from home: adventures of yellow dog were filmed. it was such an amazing site. :) we ate a can of lemon and dill tuna, 1 pack of cheese sticks, cuttlefish and 2 granola bars on the walk.

"later can you clean the lettuce off my crotch and throw it out the window" - jon said while eating a jr chicken. we bought 2 jr chickens at mcdonalds in hope.

We just went to hell’s gate air tram and road the gondola over the river. It was quite scary. The hell’s gate describes the deepest and narrowest (and fastest) point of the fraser river. It was scary when we crossed the bridge because i’m afraid of water and heights.

From hell’s gate air tram, we were about to leave for kelowna but our gps wanted us to go onto the dirt road to get there. We drove back and forth twice before realizing we had to drive back to hope before we can go to kelowna.

We went to subway to get dinner. We had a footlong pizza sub meal. The subway at hope ran out of cucumbers and napkins which i thought was weird. NO NAPKINS...

We’re on our way to kelowna now.

We're officially on the road. Right now, we are at Clark drive and e 12th. this laptop makes it hard to capitalize so excuse me. jon is in the punch buggy lead. he has 3, and i have 0. mind you, 2 of his punch buggies occurred when i was typing. ugh!
this morning, we had breakfast with my brother charles. it was nice of him to come to kerrisdale to have breakfast with us. i will miss my boys! <3

Leaving Tomorrow :D

We've just got our wireless internet working on the net book and we are getting ready to leave tomorrow!

Lily may have gotten food poisoning from our family dinner at Posh....she's not feeling too well so she is going to go to bed early tonight while I finish packing. We'll post again when we're on the road tomorrow.

Our new clothing racks to dry our clothes in the car. The one on the left was $2 from daiso and the one on the right was $3.50 and is collapsable. Today Jon built a rod to put across the roof of the back seat to hang them on.

The Punch Buggy Game:

-Player A gets 1 point for calling the colour +/- sunroof +/- convertible +/- spoiler +/- old school
-Note: All of the aforementioned features must be called in order to prevent counter calls.
-If Player A sees a yellow punch buggy with a spoiler and only calls "yellow punch buggy", Player B can call the "spoiler" aka counter call. This would result in both Player A and B with 1 point each.
-If Player A manages to call a "yellow punch buggy with a spoiler", he is awarded 1 point and prevent Player B from counter calling.
-If Player A sees a "yellow punch buggy with a spoiler and a sunroof" and calls "yellow punch buggy", Player B can call both "spoiler and sunroof". However, Player A and B are still allotted 1 point each.
***10 points are awarded to the player who calls a punch buggy being pulled over by the police.
